European Adventure - Day 20 - Wengen / Mannlichen

Today we caught the cable car from Wengen up to Mannlichen which was just amazing. Once we got to Mannlichen we hiked in the snow up to Männlichen Gipfel, the peak (2343m) - which was a massive effort - see the photo proof - poor Aidan was struggling big time!!! We slipped a bit, but managed it! If we are to do more snow walking we will definitely be buying poles in the future! It was amazing that we could watch paragliders start off up there... such an amazing sight so high up in the mountains!

After our trip back to Wengen we stopped at a little bakery to get a little snack and wandered back to our chalet which is a 15 mins walk from the centre of the village. Once we were back we grabbed the sleds and tried out the hill behind our house, which is actually the finish line of the very famous Lauberhorn World Ski Race. The kids loved sledding (as did we), and we have already been discussing our options for holidays next year... depending on where we are living Switzerland is looking like an option again but for longer and we will ski / snowboard / sled, or if we are further down south I think a weeks vacation to Thredbo or Falls Creek might be in order. :)
