36 Weeks!

Baby growth:
According to the thebump.com Baby Murray is still the size of a honeydew melon like last week. Baby is 48cm long and weighs approx 2.7kg.

Total weight gain/loss:

13.5kg - Went to see my Ob on Tuesday and I had lost 500g - so I am 500g down compared to this time 6 weeks ago which I am quite happy with since I haven't been dieting at all - just eating smaller amounts since I am so full with this little man.

Maternity clothes?
As previous - Yes!

Stretch marks?
As previous - Yes!

Sleep:
Last night was horrendous. I was awake every hour on the hour and ended up on Facebook and browsing the net. So need to have my stomach to lie on again - lying on my side is not what my body likes.

What I miss:
Sleep!

Movement:
Lots of movement!

Exercise this week:
Nothing - super sore legs and pelvis so my big exercise is walking down to the shops every day or so to get a few things. Even doing that means I end up sitting down when I get home with my legs up for a few hours.

Food cravings:
Mango - managed to get some yummy (and expensive) Australian mangos at the wet market and have been making mango & banana smoothies... delicious!

Have you started to show yet:
Most definitely - no disguising this pregnancy!

Gender:
Boy!

Questions or concerns this week:
The Ob seems to think this baby is going to be a bit bigger than the last three, and his head is measuring between 38 and 39 weeks o I am quite glad I am having a caesarean. 12 days to go - can't wait!

Next things for me to do are to finalise the packing of my hospital bag and make sure everything is sorted with the children while I am in hospital - i.e. their school routine, lunch orders. They have a busy day at school when I have the caesarean planned. They have a spelling bee and also book character dress up day - which I have no idea what they're going to dress up as! Maybe something to do with Hunger Games / Dork Diaries etc. The last thing I want to organise but since they're at their new school I want to make sure they are all set or else they'll be quite disappointed. I also need to get them some Chinese New Year outfits which I will try to grab this week.

It is my big boys birthday next Thursday so I have ordered 60 cupcakes so that they can take them to school to share with their classes, and also ordered a cake (Chocolate Kit Kat cake with m&m's on the top) for our family to enjoy to celebrate them turning 10. I just knew the last thing I needed was to have to bake cupcakes and a cake! I went out today and bought some of their presents and will finish it off on the weekend.

35 Weeks

Baby growth:
According to the Parents.com website Baby Murray is now the size of a honeydew melon, baby is 45cm long and weighs 2.5kg.

Total weight gain/loss:

No ob appointment this week so still sitting at 14kg as far as I know - hopefully when I see the Ob next Tuesday at my 36 week appointment I will still be around the same weight.

Maternity clothes?
As previous - Yes!

Stretch marks?
As previous - Yes!

Sleep:
Not too much the last week or so as I have been feeling really unwell with a head cold and sore throat - so lots of coughing and sneezing. Starting to feel a little better so hope I can catch up on some sleep!

What I miss:
Nothing much at the moment.

Movement:
Lots of movement!

Exercise this week:
Nothing this week due to sickness! Really keen to get out walking though!

Food cravings:
Water - due to the sickness I've been guzzling it down.

Have you started to show yet:
Most definitely - no disguising this pregnancy!

Gender:
Boy!

Questions or concerns this week:
Nothing really! Bub has been kicking up a storm which has been fantastic. I can't get enough of his kicks and when he has the hiccups.. just adorable. He sticks his little foot right out so I can measure how long it is - such an incredible thing to realise there is a little person in my tummy just waiting to come out! :) Now the countdown is on... 20 days to go!

34 Weeks

Baby growth:
According to the Parents.com website Baby Murray is now the size of a rockmelon and baby's Length is 45cm. According to my Obstetrician baby weighs 2.5kg already and has a head measuring two weeks ahead! Thank goodness for caesareans!

Total weight gain/loss:

I had my Ob appointment yesterday and incredibly haven't put on any weight in the past month - so still sitting at 14kg up.

Maternity clothes?
As previous - Yes!

Stretch marks?
As previous - Yes!

Sleep:
Insomnia has hit badly!! So exhausted! Last night I was up until 12.30am and then slept on and off until 6.30am. So think a nap today will definitely be in order.

What I miss:
Nothing much at the moment.

Movement:
Lots of movement!

Exercise this week:
I did a 2.4km walk with Keenan which was good but after felt so sore - so thinking I will have to wait to do much more than that until after bub arrives. Keenan was a little boss man and wanted me to run the whole way - it was so tough and I had to keep reminding him that I can't run right now - too much pressure! He is keen to have me recovered so we can get some long runs in again. We have signed up to a challenge to walk/run 2015 miles in 2015 so are off to a slow start but I know we will catch up as we have been working out our combined running goals, and Keenan is definitely taking after me as he is super excited about doing a lot of runs this year.

Food cravings:
Craving mangos and managed to find some yesterday so will be having a big smoothie today!

Have you started to show yet:
Most definitely - no disguising this pregnancy!

Gender:
Boy!

Questions or concerns this week:
I met with the Obstetrician yesterday and we booked in to have the baby on 10 February! So 5 days after Aidan and Keenan's birthday which should work in well with the Chinese New Year holidays which also includes a week of school holidays! Only 27 days to go. I just added a counter to the blog to keep everyone informed with how many days to go.

I have Keenan at home sick today so he is lying in bed. Poor little man is feeling pretty miserable.

I just received a Boba wrap and carrier for bub. I am so excited as I love baby wearing! I already have a sling, Ergo and Baby Bjorn too so have lots of options! :)

Our Penang Apartment

We have been moved into our apartment since early December and I have finally got it mostly organised! I still have a lot to do in bub's room and deciding whether I need to move some furniture around but I will show you what I mean below. So here are some pictures of what we are dealing with in our massive place!! 5 bedrooms - need I say more?!

I will start off with our main living area and views - just love this part!

The view from our apartment - just gorgeous!!

Our "formal" dining area on the left which usually ends up with the kids laptops when they are doing their homework, and our living area on the right. The lounges are super comfortable and we ended up buying a new Smart TV so we can live stream the AFL when the season starts!

Our study area with an extra lounge chair (not too sure what this is for but the boys tend to sit here and play their iPads), and then the bar area. We haven't done much with this yet, but we are thinking we will get a little bar fridge and lots of bottles of alcohol and hopefully have cute a few social gatherings making cocktails! :)

Our kitchen and breakfast table - the kitchen is pretty basic but does the job. Initially when I saw the photos of the apartment the kitchen left me a bit concerned as we have been so spoilt in our last house with an amazing brand new kitchen, but to my surprise it isn't too bad. We have a walk in pantry so that is where I put most of our big appliances when not using so our cupboard space is workable with what we have!

Our fridges. When we moved in we only had the black one which was no where near enough space for a family of 5 (almost 6) so I asked our landlord if they would supply another. They had the green one sitting in another apartment so we were lucky to not have to buy one. It is pretty old and basic but does the job!

We were very lucky to have a dishwasher supplied - this is not common practice over here. Funnily enough when we moved in the dishwasher was facing towards the window so we couldn't open the door fully. Thankfully our landlord organised for a tradesman to come and turn it around - much more practical. Behind the dishwasher is the washing machine, and in the little room behind is our amah's store room which includes our dryer and where our clothes airers are and just storage.

The view out of the kitchen window to the back of our apartment block - so not too much to see really.

The view from the kitchen with our breakfast table and then our formal dining table. It is pretty spacious.

Now the children's bedrooms.

Here is Isabel's room. She has the second master so she has an ensuite to herself. She has made it pretty girly but we still need to get her a big rug and some more decorations.

Here is Keenan's room. Keenan originally had two single beds in his room, so now he only has one he has plenty of room. He and Aidan are right next to each other and share a bathroom.

Aidan's room - Aidan's room originally only had the futon, so we moved one of the single beds from Keenan in here. It's an odd sized room but Aidan seems to like it, and he likes having the futon so he can lounge on it.

We don't have any artwork in the boys rooms as they don't have many hooks and the plastic 3M ones don't work. We have to check if we can put in proper hooks as I would love to get some proper artwork up for them. :-)

Here is our spare room - aka baby Murray's room. This has a King Sized bedroom suite (which we haven't used yet - hence no sheets!) as well as the cot. Because Keenan's room has so much space I am thinking of putting this bed in there and then putting his single bed in bub's room so free up space so we can fit the change table and maybe a bookcase / chest of drawers, as the wardrobe is full of BJ's work clothes. Not sure if I will though as it seems like a massive effort.

Finally here is our room which is just crazily big - it has enough room for us to have bub's change table and bassinet near my side of the bed, as well as a big TV, dressing table, big wardrobe and we have an ensuite. I haven't taken pics of the bathrooms because they are all similar - very dated and dark, and not terribly exciting.

Run 2015 in 2015!

As you all know I can get a little bit crazy about fitness and when I commit to a challenge I go into it head first. So just before New Years Keenan and I found a challenge called "Run 2015 (miles) in 2015" by Run The Edge. Even though it says "Run" in the title it actually includes walking too (thank goodness), so Keenan and I decided to commit to the challenge along with my friend Cynthia - and we will be doing it via distance as Cynthia is in Australia! 2015 miles equates to 3242.83km which as a team of three works out to just under 3km each per day. Obviously at the moment I am quite tired and sore so haven't logged any distance yet - but Keenan and I are planning on heading out for a walk today to get it started. Cynthia has already done a fair bit of walking/running so will hopefully have us a little ahead! I know after bub arrives I will be walking my heart out so will have no issues getting the kms in and the kilos off! :-)

If you see the options above we are a "Three Amigos" team! We don't log the first lot of kms until the end of January when we also register our team name, so have a little while to go and need to figure out a good team name! :-)

I like the idea of having staggered distances for each team member as Cynthia will be able to log more distances initially as she is very fit and active and not nearly 9 months pregnant, and once I am back fit and healthy I will be able to log a fair few and Keenan can log distance when he get a chance around school and his commitments. I like that Keenan won't feel pressured by having anything set in stone! Saying that Keenan is super keen so would be happy to do big walks / jogs every day - I am just too tired! :-)

So if you want to join in to the challenge please head to RunTheEdge which is at http://www.runtheedge.com/2014/12/run-2015-in-2015-challenge/ and sign up!

I will be tracking all our walks here on the blog and have a counter that I will update at the end of each month with our teams kms to hopefully keep us on track! :)

Keenan and I are going to do our first walk this morning, so I will be back later to post the details! :)

Questions or concerns this week:
We had a busy week because the kids started school so that has been fun. They are enjoying it so far which is a major relief for me!!! :)

I just received a gorgeous cot set from Crimson Home & Giftware I ordered. I put a few pieces in bub's bassinet to get it all ready. Most of the pieces have his name on them so I had to leave those pieces out! Once he arrives we of course will share! :)
