Today we travelled from Innsbruck to Mieming. First up we caught the train from Munich to Innsbruck. This train was great. My biggest travel tip with trains in Europe - ALWAYS reserve seats. We had reserved our seats, got on board and an old couple had taken over our seats. After I showed them our reserved tickets they moved (they were apologetic), and for the rest of the journey we had people walking through the train trying to find seats as they hadn't reserved seats!!
The journey was quite nice and quick - less than 2 hours - and quite scenic.
Our plan once we got to Innsbruck was to put our luggage into luggage lockers and walk around for 3 1/2 hours until we were picked up by our transfer driver. I wanted to check out all the main sites, have lunch etc.. We had a big hurdle though - no luggage lockers were available :( So instead of checking out Innsbruck we had lunch and continued on to Mieming early.
We will head back to Innsbruck after we finish our ski lessons for a day trip.
The apartment we are at in Obermieming is just beautiful. It is a 2 bedroom with a sofa bed. It is not 5 star, but it is perfect for us - with all the necessities - bathroom, free wifi, TV, dishwasher, oven etc and good heating. The beds are super comfortable too and it is really close to the bus and to the supermarket / bakery / patisserie. So all in all perfect!! Here are some pictures
