Vietnam - Hoi An - Day 5

Day 5 kicked off the same as all the others.. with a lovely breakfast!!

We were collected by Peter and taken for a buffalo cart ride around the local farming villages. It was quite interesting to see where the rice is grown and see the little huts that people live in. We really tried to show the children how other people live - and that not all people live in large houses / apartments with TVs / internet / air conditioning. It really was quite eye opening.

After our wander around the fields in the buffalo cart we decided to check out China Beach and get a Bahn Mi roll from a cart we had seen there. It was really nice to chill near the beach bar (as it was directly across from our hotel - so was our hotel's property). While Declan and I rested on the lounger BJ and the kids had a dip in the ocean. One of my favourite TV shows was "China Beach", so it was a bit surreal to be on the real China Beach.

Vietnam - Hoi An - Day 4

We don't want to leave Hoi An! We just love it!!

Day 4 started off with another leisurely breakfast by the pool. After breakfast we were picked up by our guide Peter and driven to a local pottery village to have a go at pottery and meet the locals. While watching them make the pottery we met a lovely 90 year old lady who still makes pottery with the tourists - amazing! After buying a few pottery pieces we caught a boat back into Hoi An.

After visiting the pottery village and wandering around Hoi An we headed back to the hotel for a swim and rest as Declan needed a big sleep. It was lovely to lie in bed in the air conditioning as it was really warm outside.

We headed out for dinner back into Hoi An and found another cafe near the river. This one was really nice.

Vietnam - Hoi An - Day 3

Today we had a relaxing day in Hoi An with no plans except to shop, walk about, swim, eat and relax! My kind of day!!

We had a leisurely breakfast - we just loved the buffet breakfast, and the view.

After breakfast we headed into Hoi An for more shopping and walking.

We headed to a cafe overlooking the river for dinner. I should have checked it out on Trip Advisor... rookie mistake. It was ok but definitely not as good as we could have found if I had of looked up restaurants!
